Boba Fett's Mandalorian Action Scene Hilariously Syncs With Robot Chicken

A hilarious new fan edit combines Boba Fett's epic action scene from The Mandalorian with sound from a similar parody scene in Robot Chicken. The iconic Star Wars character, first seen in the disastrous Star Wars Holiday Special and properly introduced in The Empire Strikes Back. Boba Fett was seemingly killed off in The Return of the Jedi after falling into the Sarlacc Pit but was revealed to still be alive in The Mandalorian season 2, episode 1, "Chapter 9: The Marshall," though even actor Temeura Morrison is unsure how he survived that ordeal.

The New Zealand actor portrays Fett in The Mandalorian, having played the character's father, Jango, and his clone troopers, in the Star Wars prequels. After merely being teased in episode 1, Boba Fett returned in a big way in the most recent episode, "Chapter 14: The Tragedy," helping fight off a group of Moff Gideon's stormtroopers alongside Mando and Fennec Shand. He then helps Mando escape to Nevarro, linking up with Cara Dune and setting up season 2, episode 7. Robot Chicken predicted Fett's return over a decade ago in a hilarious video where Fett massacres all the Ewoks before wooing Princess Leia (all revealed to be the fantasy of a pre-teen boy).

Now, a hilarious new video by Dr. Madd mashes up the two scenes, placing the sound from the Robot Chicken parody over footage of Boba Fett defeating the stormtroopers in The Mandalorian. The sound has been edited slightly to fit the footage, and it ends up working perfectly, making the tense action scene into a hilarious return for the character. You can watch the riotously funny video below:

The combination of the two videos is so perfect because there was the fear Boba Fett's return would play out like poorly written fan service. Despite having very little actual screen time in the original trilogy, the character has become so iconic that there was a worry his return would make him an all-powerful conqueror with too many powers. The scene in question presents him more real than that, though there's no doubt he remains powerful, and there are elements of fan service in the way he quickly dispatches with the stormtroopers.

In the end, though, it's far enough from Robot Chicken for the video to be hilarious rather than mean and a fitting mash-up of the two shows. As for Fett himself, the character is sure to feature in at least the next episode, though Morrison says he's unsure if he's returning for The Mandalorian season 3. Hopefully, the character is used sparingly, as scenes like this are the most effective when they feature rarely seen characters. In the Star Wars franchise, though, anything can happen.
