There are two episodes of The Big Bang Theory that don’t feature Kaley Cuoco’s sitcom heroine Penny, but her absence is understandable given the circumstances. Like any good hang-out show, The Big Bang Theory relied on the chemistry between its leads to succeed. Sheldon’s antics wouldn’t have worked if the perpetually exasperated Leonard wasn’t around to struggle with his roommate’s latest misadventures. Howard’s sleaziness would have been borderline unpleasant if he wasn’t always paired with the shy, sardonic Raj. As a result, it is no surprise that Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, and Howard all appeared in every episode of The Big Bang Theory.
