Mission: Impossible 7's Train Sequence Was Nearly A Movie-Length Climax

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One editor Eddie Hamilton reveals that the film's big train set piece was the length of a full movie in an early cut. Directed by now franchise veteran Christopher McQuarrie, the latest installment in the long-running action franchise sees Tom Cruise return as superspy Ethan Hunt to face off against a deadly AI threat. The film features a handful of standout action sequences and set pieces, with the entire third act essentially taking place in and around a speeding steam train.
