During the Pokémon Presents stream a new Pokémon series was announced that’s different than anything we’ve seen before in the franchise. It’s a stop-motion animated series titled Pokemon Concierge, and it’s coming to Netflix.
The series tells the story of Haru, “a concierge at the Pokémon Resort, and her interactions with Pokémon and their owners who visit as guests.”
The project is being developed by the French animation studio Dwarf Studio, which has partnered with The Pokémon Company to bring the show to life.
Minyoung Kim, vice president of content at Netflix’s APAC region, said in a statement: "With this title, we’re excited to marry an entirely new storyline that expands the Pokemon Universe with groundbreaking stop-motion animation. To bring this new world to life, we’ve partnered with the amazing creative team at Dwarf Studio. The series, which will be set at the Pokemon Resort, follows a story of our concierge Haru and the many Pokemon who visit as guests."
This looks like it could be a fun and charming Pokémon series. As the franchise enters a new era, fans are preparing to say goodbye to Ash Metchum, who will leave the series after 25 years. He will be released by a new hero and a new Pikachu.
