Yesterday, Adult Swim announced that it had cut ties with Rick and Morty co-creator and voice actor Justin Roiland as he faces charges of felony domestic battery and false imprisonment. It’s now been announced that he has been cut from two other animated shows that he created including Solar Opposites and Koala Man.
Variety is reporting both shows will continue but without Roiland's involvement. A statement from 20th Television Animation and Hulu Originals confirmed, "We have ended our association with Justin Roiland.” This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.
Rick and Morty will also continue without Roiland’s involvement ,and they are currently looking to recast the lead characters of Rick and Morty. There’s a chance that this could delay the seventh season, which is still currently in development.
Solar Opposites follows a “family of aliens crash lands on Earth after their utopic home planet, Schlorp, is destroyed by an asteroid. While they were hoping to find an uninhabited world to repopulate, they must now learn to live among humans on our overpopulated planet and are divided on whether they love or hate their new life.”
Koala Man follows Kevin, a middle-aged dad who also has a not-so-secret identity… Koala Man, whose only superpower is a burning passion for following rules and snuffing out petty crime in the town of Dapto. He will "do whatever it takes to defeat villainous masterminds, supernatural horrors, or worse: jerks who don't take their rubbish bins down on the proper days."
