The Loki frame has been long forgotten by many Warframe players, but those willing to pick it up will find it can be extremely useful with a build that relies on its Invisibility ability. Warframe is a free-to-play online multiplayer shooter originally released in 2013 that was developed by Digital Extremes, the makers of the all-time classic, Unreal Tournament. In the game, players take on the role of the Tenno, a race of ancient warriors, as they are awakened from a centuries-long slumber in order to fight in a planetary war involving future Earth. The Tenno fight using an advanced weapons system called a warframe, each of them unique in its features and the abilities they have access to.
Warframe boasts a total of 45 unique frames, but when taking into account special variants and prime versions, that number rises to nearly 80. A prime warframe is a variant of a frame that is more powerful as it sports better stats such as more armor and energy. Loki is one of the original space ninjas in Warframe, and although it hasn’t changed much over the years, it is one of the warframes that has received a Prime variant. Unfortunately, however, the Prime Loki warframe has since been Vaulted.
A vaulted item in Warframe is not present in the drop rotation and therefore cannot be obtained through those means, meaning that players must get the blueprints and relics from players who have them. Otherwise, Loki’s regular variant’s blueprint can be purchased in the market, while the component blueprints can be obtained from defeating the Hyena pack on Psamathe, Neptune. Building the warframe will take a total of three days and cost 45,000 credits in Warframe.
Loki is a somewhat dated warframe that has long been outclassed by the competition, as it struggles to match other frames' damage output. However, there is something that Loki does better than most other frames, and that is invisibility. With this build, players will focus on stacking as much energy and duration as possible via mods, something that is aided by having the Prime version, to make that invisibility last virtually forever. This build makes Loki perfect for spy missions as he can easily stealth through them while using its other abilities to bypass traps.
Like all other frames in the game, Loki has four main abilities, three of which make him the best in Warframe when it comes to spy missions:
- Decoy will create a copy of Loki in a chosen location that will draw enemy fire and will mainly be used in conjunction with Switch Teleport.
- Invisibility is the bread and butter of this warframe, as stacking enough energy and duration will allow players to constantly remain out of sight.
- Switch Teleport swaps locations with a target, which can include Loki’s own decoy. This little trick can be extremely useful during missions as it lets players bypass laser barriers and similar traps in spy vaults.
- Radial Disarm is an area-of-effect attack that disarms enemies and temporarily stuns them. Although this ability has its uses, it should be avoided with this build, as players will be avoiding enemy fire by simply staying invisible.
