The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise star J.J. Lane and wife, Kayla Hughes are having a mini-me of their own. The two lovebirds, along with J.J.'s daughter from a previous relationship, posed on social media to commemorate Christmas Day and didn't hesitate to give followers a gift as well. Announcing to the world that their family was expanding by one, the couple were received with hearty celebrations and words of advice from thousands online.
Lane, who starred on the 11th season of The Bachelorette, was eliminated during week six, ending his shot at finding love with Kaitlyn Bristowe. The 39-year-old later went on to join the second season of Bachelor in Paradise, where he quit during week two. After the show, he met and fell in love with Kayla; according to E! Online, the couple got engaged at the beginning of 2019 and wed in February 2020. Lane is active on Instagram, dedicating his account to his daily activities and milestones with Gemma — who Lane shares with Heather Sands — and Hughes.
Uploading another sweet snap the day after Christmas, Lane, Hughes, and 8-year old Gemma are all pictured with wide smiles. With Gemma holding the sonogram as the three pose in front of the tree, J.J simply captioned the news, "Won't be able to unwrap this present until July!" Confirming Kayla's pregnancy, E! Online shared the soon-to-be mother's own Instagram post, in which she wrote, "The best gift wasn't under the tree this year… Littlest Lane coming July 2022."
Both captions are short, sweet, and to the point, but that did not stop friends and former castmates from wishing their heartfelt congratulations on Instagram. Several friends that he made on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise wished the couple well, including Jared Haibon and his wife Ashley Iaconetti; the two met on season two of BIP are about to welcome a child of their own. Fellow season 11 alumni Tanner Tolbert and his wife Jade also left their well wishes, as well as hockey player Matthew Kopperud.
J.J. Lane and Kayla Hughes have yet to say more about their soon-to-be bundle of joy, but like any expecting parents, they must be over the moon. Fans have expressed their excitement and joy on all corners of the Internet and are anxiously awaiting for next summer to meet the little one. With the recent finale of season 18 of The Bachelorette concluding and season 26 of The Bachelor about to premiere, viewers have a lot to look forward to.
