The Voice: Ariana Grande to Give Away $1M to Fans for Mental Health

Ariana Grande, from The Voice, will give away $1 million to fans for mental health. Grande is the newest coach on the singing competition show and is off to an abundant start. The “7 Rings” singer recently added a wedding ring to her finger after a private wedding, performed at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards and recently joined The Voice as the highest paid coach. Grande told fans that she would be joining The Voice season 21 via social media in March. The singer shared, “Surprisee !!! I am beyond thrilled, honored, excited to be joining @kellyclarkson @johnlegend @blakeshelton next season ~ season 21 of @nbcthevoice !” The Florida native and new Voice coach is a well-decorated artist who has won several awards. This year, Grande received the Pop Duo/Group Performance award at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Grande’s range of vocals also earned her accolades including a Brit Award, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. The singer even received recognition for 22 Guinness World Records. It is safe to say that Grande is generous with her vocal talent.

The newest coach does not stop at vocal talent when it comes to her generosity. Grande shared that she would be giving away $1 million in therapy to her 247 million followers on Instagram. The New York Post shared that the singer partnered with Better Help, the world’s largest e-counseling program to provide access to licensed, trained and accredited therapists. Grande captioned her post on Instagram, “While acknowledging that therapy should not be for a privileged few but something everyone has access to, and acknowledging that this doesn’t fix that issue in the long run, I really wanted to do this anyway in hopes of inspiring you to dip a toe in, to feel okay asking for help.Fans of the new Voice coach expressed their gratitude for the gesture, saying she has a “beautiful soul.” One fan supported the post by sharing a personal experience with Better Help: “Been on that site for a while [which] has helped me out tremendously.”

The coach for The Voice has shed light on mental health throughout her career. Grande shared a moment of her journey with mental health in her song “Breathin.” Prior to that, Grande worked through Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after a deadly bombing at her concert in Manchester. Grande attributed therapy to saving her life on multiple occasions. The new Voice coach continues her caption, “Healing is not linear or easy but you are worth the effort and time, I promise!

The singer openly acknowledges the impact of therapy on her ever-changing life in the spotlight. It is no wonder that mental health is so close to her heart. The newest coach plans to continue working towards spreading mental health awareness. The Voice will return for season 21 in the fall.
