In SpongeBob SquarePants, SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs have developed a relationship that goes far beyond employee and boss. Now, they work as a team, with one not being able to go on without the other. Although they have hardships from time to time, they formed a strong bond that can withstand anything. This bond has been shown in many moments that highlight the camaraderie between SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs.

10 Mr. Krabs Pays SpongeBob

Mr. Krabs is known for being greedy with his money, so it's always good development for him when he's able to part with it. One moment he was able to do this was when he finally gave SpongeBob his paycheck. This was after he gave him worn-down boots that Pearl didn't want. Trying to save money, he gave SpongeBob the boots instead of his regular pay, and told him it meant that he was a great cook.

SpongeBob loved the boots so much that he wore them around everywhere, and the noise was annoying Mr. Krabs. It annoyed him so much that he had to take the boots and confess what he did. He told SpongeBob that he was a great cook and gave him his earned pay, creating a heartfelt moment between them.

9 The Prom

In one of the first episodes of the show, Pearl had her high school prom but nobody to go with. That's when Mr. Krabs suggested that she take SpongeBob. Mr. Krabs believed in SpongeBob, which motivated him to bring his absolute best.

After the prom, when SpongeBob and Pearl came back home, Mr. Krabs congratulated him, saying that he did a good job. It was a nice moment that showed how proud Mr. Krabs was of SpongeBob.

8 The Best Day Ever

SpongeBob's planned best day ever included doing everything that he wanted to do with all his friends. However, everything kept going wrong with his friends, so he had to help them and miss out on what he wanted to do. He reached his breaking point when he couldn't get into Squidward's concert. He had a big fit, crying about how he couldn't enjoy his friendship with Squidward and the others.

Then his friends all came and tried to cheer him up, namely Mr. Krabs. He told SpongeBob that he helped him and everyone else when they were having trouble. To make him feel even better, he helped the others put a stage production on so SpongeBob could sing his "Best Day Ever" song. Thanks to Mr. Krabs and everyone else, SpongeBob's best day ever was saved in the end.

7 Mr. Krabs Appreciates SpongeBob

When SpongeBob brought his cousin Stanley SquarePants to the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs quickly noticed that there were two people who looked like SpongeBob. He thanks SpongeBob for the hard work he's done over the years, picks him up, and kisses him all over his cheek.

When he sees Stanley, he asks SpongeBob if Stanley's just as much of a hard worker as SpongeBob. SpongeBob says yes, and Mr. Krabs hires Stanley based on his recommendation. Even though Mr. Krabs was primarily concerned with money, it was nice to see him give SpongeBob appreciation.

6 The Hooks

Mr. Krabs can be one of the best father figures towards SpongeBob, and he can try his hardest to steer SpongeBob on the right path. A good example of this is when the hooks came into town, and Mr. Krabs warned SpongeBob about the dangers of them. He was genuinely worried about SpongeBob's safety, which was a sweet moment for him.

Though SpongeBob wanted to listen to Mr. Krabs, he couldn't resist the hook's temptation and he went on. Mr. Krabs thought he lost SpongeBob, and he fell down crying, full of regret for not spending more time with him. Even though SpongeBob turned out to be safe, the moment shows that Mr. Krabs views SpongeBob as family.

5 "We've Been Duped!"

SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs often work well together, especially if it involves the Krusty Krab. When they thought they were being tricked by a fake health inspector, they were so offended by the thought of someone scamming them. They exclaimed to each other how deceived they were, with SpongeBob saying, "We've been smeckledorfed!"

Mr. Krabs said he agreed with SpongeBob, even though that wasn't a real word. Then, they worked together to create a plan to get back at the imposter. Not only was it a funny moment, but it showed how well SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs can work as a team.

4 The Inspiration For The Krusty Krab

As shown in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On the Run, SpongeBob met most of the main cast when he was a kid in summer camp. This includes Mr. Krabs, and when SpongeBob first met him, he served the camp lunch. Once SpongeBob got to taste a Krabby Patty, he told Mr. Krabs that he should open his own restaurant one day.

This inspired Mr. Krabs to open the Krusty Krab, even calling SpongeBob himself the secret formula. Their relationship was founded on admiration, and it would only be followed with respect.

3 "Are You Feeling It Now, Mr. Krabs?"

Being one of the older characters in the show, Mr. Krabs hasn't always felt the best about his age. To make him feel better about getting older, SpongeBob and Patrick decided to show him what young people do and take him out into town.

While they were out, Mr. Krabs was getting more and more annoyed with what SpongeBob and Patrick considered fun. During all their activities, SpongeBob would ask "Are you feeling it now, Mr. Krabs?", hoping that it would make him happy. Even though Mr. Krabs was getting more frustrated, SpongeBob's sincerity and optimism made it that much funnier and sweet.

2 "This Grill Is Not a Home"

When SpongeBob had to go work at the Chum Bucket, neither he nor Mr. Krabs wanted him to go. However, since Plankton won him in a game, he had no choice. They cried as they held on to one another, until Plankton ripped SpongeBob away from Mr. Krabs.

Later on, as they were missing each other, they sang a tearful song about how things were so much different without the other. To this day, it's still one of the best songs in the show, and the fact that it's shared between SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs makes it that much better.

1 Mr. Krabs Makes SpongeBob Manager

In The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Mr. Krabs gave Squidward the managerial promotion instead of SpongeBob. SpongeBob felt hurt and betrayed by the decision, but he didn't abandon Mr. Krabs when he needed him afterward. Instead, he went on the perilous journey all to save Mr. Krabs.

Mr. Krabs was so touched by SpongeBob's selflessness that he decided to give him the managerial promotion instead. This led to a tearful hug, bringing the pair closer together than they had ever been. The first movie is often considered the best, and this moment between SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs supports that notion.
