Hell's Kitchen: What Happened To Season 6 Winner Dave Levey & Araxi Restaurant

It's been twelve years since Dave Levey emerged as the victor on Hell's Kitchen season 6. As the winner, Dave earned the customary $250,000, along with an intended head chef position at the posh Araxi Restaurant & Bar, which is situated in the beautiful town of Whistler, British Columbia. Fans want to know what Dave has been up to since the show was filmed in 2009.

On Hell's Kitchen season 6, Dave stood out immediately as a charismatic, confident, and multi-talented chef. After fracturing his wrist while completing a truck-cleaning punishment, it seemed unlikely that he'd go on, and even more unlikely that he would stand out. Dave impressed everyone by continuing to perform well with just one fully-functional hand at his disposal. Thanks to his grit and perseverance, Ramsay nicknamed him the "one-armed bandit." In the end, Dave defeated his final Hell's Kitchen opponent Kevin and came out on top.

Immediately after his 2009 victory, Dave set off to Whistler to accept his head chef position. With the well-known ski town preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics, there was a lot to be done to get Araxi ready for big crowds to come. When Dave arrived, he was surprised to learn that the position open to him was not the head chef job. He was offered a line cook position instead. As a result of this, Dave made the decision to leave his role at Araxi soon after the Olympics ended.

Originally hailing from Chester, New Jersey, Dave returned to his home state after leaving Whistler. Though his social media presence is either hidden or nonexistent, there are rumblings that he currently works as a baker at Mara's Café & Bakery, in Denville, New Jersey. Aside from his culinary career, Dave has also spoken publicly about the experiences he had while hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2005. In 2014, he was arrested as part of a drug bust. Soon thereafter, he was confirmed to be innocent and released.

As far as Araxi Restaurant & Bar goes, it continues to thrive. A destination restaurant, the kitchen at Araxi is currently run by Executive Chef James Walt. According to the Araxi.com website, Chef Walt focuses on seasonal menus with locally-sourced ingredients. In 2016, Araxi published its second cookbook, curated by Chef Walt, called Araxi: Roots to Shoots, Farm Fresh Recipes. This year, the restaurant has remained open for the most part throughout the pandemic, and the restaurant staff members are strictly adhering to guidance from health care authorities. In December, for example, they set up picturesque, socially distant tents for guests to dine in. Check out a dreamy outdoor dining setting, posted on the eatery's official Instagram, below:

Dave parted ways with Araxi Restaurant in 2010, just one year after his Hell's Kitchen win. It's fortunate that Levey and the restaurant have continued to do well. Hell's Kitchen fans who find themselves hungry in the Pacific Northwest, with a nice chunk of change in their pockets,  may want to visit Araxi.
