Spider-Man Vs. Daredevil: Who Would Win In A Fight | Screen Rant

Though they’ve both had their fair share of battles among the stars and in other dimensions, Spider-Man and Daredevil are both best known as more down-to-earth heroes who fight crime on the streets of New York. They’ve each taken down their fair share of villains, but the question still remains: If the two heroes went head-to-head, who would win?

Just like virtually every other pair of characters in the Marvel Universe, Daredevil and Spider-Man have fought each other on a number of occasions already. There has been no clear-cut winner of all their bouts, with Spider-Man coming out on top during some while Daredevil triumphs in others. Though Spider-Man’s powers include super strength and his trusty Spider Sense, Daredevil can often match him with his sonar senses and years of training in hand-to-hand combat. Often their fights end with nobody triumphing over the other, as the two usually end up joining forces against a common foe.

Their very first meeting in The Amazing Spider-Man #16 is a classic example of a superhero team-up. While both are at a circus run by the villainous Ringmaster, Spider-Man finds himself hypnotized along with the rest of the audience. Due to his lack of sight, Daredevil is immune to Ringmaster’s hypnotism and jumps into action to stop the villain’s plan. Ringmaster tells Spider-Man to stop Daredevil, and the two end up fighting. Daredevil comments that he's no match for Spider-Man’s super strength, but luckily he is able to out think the webslinger. He breaks Spider-Man free from the hypnotism and together they take down the Ringmaster.

Spider-Man’s super strength, wallcrawling and web-shooters are a formidable match for Daredevil in any of their encounters. In an open space, it is easy for him to use his webslinging abilities to get the drop on Daredevil. But don’t count Daredevil out just because his super powers seem less traditional. His enhanced senses give him a radar-like ability to perceive his entire surroundings, and the ability to detect his opponents’ heartbeats. He is also a trained fighter with a knowledge of several different types of martial arts, and he is especially dangerous in close quarters. Spider-Man, on the other hand, is pretty much self-taught when it comes to fighting abilities.

Two other big fights between the two heros occur during the time when Spider-Man was wearing his black symbiote suit. In Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #110 Spider-Man and Daredevil are racing to stop the Sin Eater. Under the influence of the symbiote costume, Spider-Man becomes enraged and attacks the Sin Eater, causing Daredevil to step in. The two fight, and Daredevil is able to take advantage of Spider-Man’s enraged state to knock him out. They later fight again in The Amazing Spider-Man #287, where Daredevil pretends to be Wilson Fisk in order to stop Spider-Man from taking down the Kingpin. They fight in the streets, and even though Daredevil uses a special gun to knock out Spider-Man’s Spider Sense, the wallcrawler is still able to take Daredevil down. The fight ends when Daredevil stops an assassin who tried to take Spider-Man out with a sniper shot.

There have been other times in the comics when the two have found themselves at odds, but more often than not they are united in their fight against crime. Another fight was teased when Spider-Man forces Daredevil to stop his crime-fighting. Tensions were raised but they managed to patch things up before it came to blows. All told, Spider-Man seems like the obvious choice to win a fight, but no one should count Daredevil out.
