MCU: 10 Things About The Infinity Saga Ending That Still Make No Sense

When something as big as the "Infinity Saga", a twenty-three film story spanning over ten years and making up a large part of MCU, fans always expect for things to end with a bang. Of course, the massive conclusion that was Endgame and the resulting epilogue, Spider-Man: Far From Home, pleasing many fans with the satisfying finale.

Yet, despite the amazing end to the twenty-three saga, one might say that the fan-pleasing ending didn't make the most sense in some regards, such as failing to tie up some unfinished storylines and character arcs. While it can be said that comic-book films don't always rely on making sense, a little clarification wouldn't hurt.

10 Second Snap

Every conflict needs a resolution and the overarching conflict of the "Infinity Saga" was the Mad Titan Thanos and his plot to wipe out half the universe. While he succeeded, the heroes, of course, found a way to bring everyone back with a second snap.

However, there are multiple details about the snap that don't line up. What happened to the people snapped back who were on planes? What about those driving or whose homes had long since been destroyed? Simple questions like these can build up into troubling facts.

9 The Blip

Now, while the second snap doesn't make a whole lot of sense, there was an attempt to make sense out of it with something called The Blip, that showcased the people who brought back after the initial snap and their lives after.

Then again, even though The Blip tries it's best to explain the confusing details, it just leaves more questions, such as how the people who were snapped didn't or did age, how they adjusted to life in this new world, and where exactly they went during The Blip.

8 Infinity Stones and Tony’s Gauntlet

There are scenes from the "Infinity Saga" that either has or, as the years wear on, will become iconic and well known. The scene where Tony Stark sacrifices himself to take down Thanos while stating "I Am Iron Man" is something that's already becoming iconic and is definitely the cherry on top for one of the MCU's best character arcs.

That being said... a few questions surround Tony's sacrifice. How or why did the stones fit into his suit? How was he even able to contain that much power without being destroyed on the spot? Despite these questions, Tony's sacrifice is an incredible scene.

7 Why Harley Was At Tony's Funeral

Given the scope of the MCU, there always happens to be a character or two who either vanish from the series for a while before popping up again later on. Of course, when it comes to Harley, a kid Tony befriended in Iron Man 3, it's a wonder as to why he popped up again.

Whether he was at Tony's funeral to pay respect or something on a larger scale, the studio has yet to announce a spinoff or series of some kind following Harley, leaving more questions than answers.

6 Returning The Stones

Audiences and fans who've kept up with the MCU throughout its journey know how the different heroes got the stones and each infinity stone power set. What came after however, is what confuses many a fan, with Steve's journey into the past remaining a mystery.

Audiences have wondered about how Steve returned each stone, and who he encountered along the way, like Red Skull. Even though it may not be one of the larger problems, it's still a baffling question as to why it wasn't included or at least referenced.

5 Back To Peggy

Fans are always tricky when it comes to films. Not necessarily in a bad way, just in a way where sometimes they expect one thing to happen and something else not entirely pleasing happens that makes them scratch their heads.

While Steve Rogers traveling back in time to be with Peggy Carter pleased a great number of audiences, some were almost mad at the fact that Steve just left everyone else to go be with Peggy, even his old friend Bucky who he finally got back after all those years.

4 Past And Present

One of the biggest issues that Endgame had was its use of time travel. While the movie tried to explain it the best they could, the truth is it ended up muddying things up even more and defying natural laws.

While it could be said that comic-book laws are different, the nature of the past, like Nebula, colliding with the present and then said past self dying, only for the present self to continue on, doesn't really make a whole lot sense, even if Back to the Future is baloney.

3 Timelines

Going hand in hand with the time paradoxes that Endgame created, a question arises with the timelines. While the Ancient One tries her best to explain it to Professor Hulk and the audiences, the explanation behind new timelines doesn't sit well with some.

For one, even just removing the stones from their original resting place for just a short period of time would have some kind of effect on the timeline. Whether it's creating a new timeline or affecting the one already created, the possibilities are endless.

2 Portals

It goes without saying that the Portals scene and one of the MCU's best score composed by Alan Silvestri in Endgame is one of the greatest scenes to come out of the MCU, definitely one of the most satisfying moments in the saga. That being said... how feasible is the Portals scene?

Yes, Dr.Strange, Wong, and several other magicians are working to gather as many allies that the avengers need. Yet, there's no way they got that many heroes to come help in the amount of time they were given even with the help of magic.

1 What’s Next?

As one chapter of the MCU came to a close, grateful fans looked upon the universe Kevin Fiege had created and smiled. Yet, among all the happy fans pleased by the twenty-three movie epic, a few were wondering: What's next?

All the marvel movies are always setting something up, another film, another phase, and while there were definite hints and exciting teases for Phase Four of the MCU, nothing was set in stone, and the lack of a post-credit scene teasing what next big villain could join the MCU, who could play them and left everyone wondering what will come to the MCU next, whether it be a Marvel Legacy crossover or a Galactus level threat.
