Stranger Things has a large group of characters worth exploring, with Mike Wheeler always at the center–but season 5 needs to make him a leader again. The Duffer Brothers decided to step away from Mike's character development and leadership in season 4, and his lack of presence was obvious. Stranger Things season 4 introduced a new villain, Vecna, who planned to take open the gates to the Upside Down permanently. It's a huge storyline setting up the final season, but unfortunately, Mike was somewhat sidelined.
