While the majority of Weekly Shonen Jump's current line-up of titles conforms to the manga styles, genres, and stories that manga fans have made clear they like and want to see more of, The Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins eschews popular trends and fan service to deliver a manga masterwork of epic proportions. The genius that is Taizen5's The Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins is that it succeeds at something few mainstream contemporary manga attempt to do, namely telling an intensely cerebral David Lynch-esque story without auditory, visual, and non-native Japanese cultural clues that make Lynch's production stand out for the uber-attractive oddity.
