The 42-year-old deaf man David is from Omaha, Nebraska. He flew to the Philippines in the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off to meet his online girlfriend Sheila. She is also partially deaf and met David on a Facebook group for deaf singles. The pair had been dating for two years before filming. David and Sheila's first meeting in person was wholesome, even if they faced issues in bed and in communication because of Sheila not knowing ASL.
