Disney has made big spending plans for its Disney+ streaming content in 2022. They are already producing a lot of original content and in 2021 they spent $25 billion on that’s films and TV shows. Well, that budget has increased for next year and according to an annual report filed to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Disney will spend $33 billion on content in 2023. That’s some serious cash.
Disney has also revealed plans to release 50 movies next year both in theaters and on streaming across Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Pixar, 20th Century Studios, and Walt Disney Pictures. They are also producing 60 unscripted series, 30 comedy series, 25 drama series, 15 limited series, 10 animated series, and 5 made-for-TV movies.
We know that Disney is developing a lot of projects for Lucasfilm and Marvel and it’ll be interesting to see what new projects end up being announced next year that haven’t been revealed yet.
