In a statement to Deadline, Morgan said that she would be leaving the project for personal reasons and that the decision was not an easy one to make for the actress.
“After much thoughtful consideration and introspection, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to step away from my role as Micki Ramirez on Walker for personal reasons, and I am eternally grateful to have the support of the producers, CBS Studios and The CW in allowing me to do so,” Morgan said. “The opportunity to play Micki has truly been a blessing as has working alongside the incredible cast and crew of this terrific series. Please know that I will continue to root for my TV family and wish them all the best.”
Morgan starred as Micki Ramirez on The CW series, which just premiered its second season two nights ago for the company. It’s unclear how many episodes Morgan will appear in during the second season, but Deadline did note that it’s possible she could return to the series as a guest star in the future.
Morgan approached the Walker producers with her request to depart the series, and all of them, including Walker star and executive producer Jared Padalecki, offered their support. “Lindsey is a wonderful person, inside and out,” Padalecki said. “I am proud of, and grateful for, her work on Walker. Moreover, I’m honored to consider her a friend.”
Walker stars Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) as Cordell Walker, Kale Culley (Me, Myself and I) as August Walker, Violent Brinson (Sharp Objects) as Stella Walker, Keegan Allen (Pretty Little Liars) as Liam Walker, Molly Hagan (Herman’s Head) as Abeline Walker, Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files, Supernatural) as Bonham Walker, Jeff Pierre (War Dogs) as Trey Barnett, Coby Bell (Third Watch) as Captain Larry James, Odette Annable (Supergirl) as Geri Broussard, and Genevieve Padalecki (Supernatural, Wildfire) as Walker’s late wife, Emily.
