When it comes to the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, two characters that aren't talked about very often are Tristan and Tea, as they aren't duelists. Still, they are key members of the series who appear in just about every single episode of the series, so they have earned their keep.
Throughout the series, both characters have some pretty wholesome moments that show just how deeply they care for their friends through thick and thin.
10 Both Characters Sneaking Into Duelist Kingdom
Only players that were invited to the Duelist Kingdom tournament were allowed onto the boat that took them to the island. Despite this, 75% of the gang snuck on.
Besides Joey, both Tea and Tristan snuck onto the boat to support their friends. They didn't need to do this but did so in order to remind their friends that they're never truly alone, which came in clutch more than once.
9 Tea Wanting Atem To Stay
The Ceremonial Duel was hard for everyone, as, if Yugi won, Atem would leave them forever. This was especially hard for Tea, who had developed a very close bond with Atem.
Despite this, she put her own feelings aside, as she knew that it was the right thing to let Atem go to where he belonged. She struggled with this idea the entire duel but knew in her heart what she had to, root for Yugi to allow Atem to finally rest his soul.
8 Tristan Taking Care Of Serenity
Tristan was being a fantastic caretaker for Serenity as she healed from a medical procedure.
While this was at first only motivated by Tristan being interested in Serenity, when things got tough, such as when the two were surrounded by Rare Hunters, Tristan was ready to fight every single one of them to make sure that Serenity got out of the situation safe.
7 Tea Saving Mokuba Over Herself
During one of Mokuba's many kidnappings, he found himself stuck with Tea, and the two devised a plan to make it out. However, they were discovered midway through their escape, and Tea made sure that Mokuba got out safely, rather than worrying about herself.
She could have been selfish at this moment, but she wasn't. Instead, she made sure that her friend was safe above all else.
6 Tristan Also Saving Mokuba
Tristan also saved Mokuba during a different kidnapping, this time during Duelist Kingdom. During Yugi's duel with Pegasus, Tristan searches the castle to find Mokuba and bring him to safety.
While it isn't at all an easy journey (he takes out multiple guards and Yami Bakura in the process), he accomplishes his goal and saves Mokuba before his soul is returned to his body after the duel.
5 Tea Letting Her Soul Be Taken To Help Her Friends
Talk about being there for your friends. In the Pyramid of Light film, Tea knows that her friends, who are trapped in the Pyramid of Light, need her. So, she does what any friend would do in a situation like this, stands on the edge of a helicopter and lets the pyramid take her soul so she can be with them in their time of need.
She almost dies doing this, but the rest of the people in the helicopter grab her body before she can straight up plummet to her death. This is kind of a baller move.
4 Tristan Literally Letting Himself Die
Tristan, on the other hand, does actually die, in a sense. He sacrifices himself so Serenity can keep going in her duel against Nezbitt in the Virtual World arc.
After crying on the floor for seven turns she gets up and wins, Tristan's soul however is reborn into a robot monkey.
3 Tea Being Willing To Stand On Top Of A Moving Train For An Entire Duel
During Yugi's duel with Weevil in the Waking the Dragons arc of the show, the two fought on top of a moving train. The Seal of Orichalcos would make sure they were stable (Kaiba dueled on top of an actual flying plane), but Tea was just sort of standing on the moving train, with nothing to keep her safe.
She was willing to risk a lot to be there for her friends.
2 Tristan And Joey Saving Yugi From The Fire
When Yugi got tricked into handing his Millennium Puzzle to Bandit Keith, he won it back, but it was on a beam jammed into the wall, and the building was on fire.
Tristan and Joey managed to get in and save Yugi, who had suffered from some serious smoke inhalation but refused to let go of the puzzle.
1 Both Jumping Into Ancient Egypt To Help Atem
All-in-all, Tristan and Tea were both selfless throughout much of the series. The two were very willing to jump into Ancient Egypt in order to help Atem, not knowing what dangers they would be faced with.
They never stopped to worry about themselves. The two were constantly devoted to their friends through thick and thin.
