The Real Housewives Of New York received a new cast member this season in the form of Eboni K. Williams. Although it can sometimes be hard for new Housewives to find their way into the fold, Eboni has been a breath of fresh air for long-time fans.
From her genuine personality to her willingness to have hard conversations, to her generous spirit, Eboni has really established herself on the show in a very short time. Here are just some of the many good things about her.
9 She Owns Her Life
Eboni is a straight shooter in a world where tall tales are a common occurrence. Fans are enjoying her openness with the camera about all aspects of her life, from the glamorous aspects of her to the more down-to-earth.
Especially on RHONY, the housewives can feel very inaccessible and like the audience could not know or be friends with them. But Eboni is instantly likable.
8 Has Insightful And Thought Provoking Conversations
Eboni isn't afraid to have meaningful discussions with the other ladies, including about race and the stereotypes that come with it.
One of the biggest conversations in the season so far has been between Luann and Eboni about the "angry Black woman" stereotype that plagues Black women across their lives, but, thankfully, necessary conversations took place, and, hopefully, the Housewives and the viewers learned something of value.
7 She's Young
Another benefit to having Eboni on the show is that she's young. Just like Leah before her, Eboni is a lot younger than most of the other housewives on the show, which helps to bring it some much-needed energy.
It also just helps to keep the cast feeling fresh and allows new perspectives to be shared through its episodes. Speaking of Leah, the two have a great friendship that is a ton of fun to watch on the show, a friendship that seems as real as it can get, reality show or not.
6 Her Friendship With Leah
Leah McSweeney joined The Real Housewives of New York last season, and she was a fan-favorite right away. Eboni entered the show as a friend of Leah's, and watching the two together has been a ton of fun.
The two are clearly true friends, and as the two newest and youngest members of the cast, they light up the screen when they're together. Leah and Eboni are great additions separately but are especially powerful in a show which does not often display real friendships.
5 She Is Very Educated
Eboni is a very educated person. She has a law degree and with that comes quite a bit of experience and education. No one gets a law degree without putting in the work.
Eboni has worked hard for her degree and has a ton of life experience. She isn't afraid to own her own victories and also helps the other women do the same.
4 She Speaks Her Mind
Eboni isn't going to let the other women of The Real Housewives of New York take advantage of her newbie status. She absolutely isn't afraid to share what she has to say. This can rub some of the older cast members of the show the wrong way, such as Countess Luann.
But Eboni speaking out on what she believes in is great for the show, and can also help viewers to learn something of value.
3 Supports Other Women
While some of the women are a bit rude to Eboni, many support her, and she does the same for them. Both Leah and Sonja are great to Eboni, and she is to them as well.
Eboni is not the type to drag down other women and always supports her friends. She even acted as Leah's translator when she took a vow of silence. If you need a friend, Eboni has always got your back, no matter what.
2 Fashion
One thing that Eboni always brings to the party is fashion. She always dresses correctly for whatever the event requires and manages to look exceptional.
While this is something that can be said for all of the women at times, Eboni is a killer when it comes to her sense of style. Fans look forward to seeing what she will wear in this season and hopefully many more.
1 Not As Dramatic
Even though Eboni has gotten in a few heated conversations during her time on RHONY, they were more purposeful interactions than they were truly arguments. Eboni seems to have a much more even-keeled head on her shoulders than some of the other ladies. She's always ready to own things she does wrong and wants to work to clear up misunderstandings.
While other women really live for petty dramas, Eboni brings a much better energy to the table. It's really a refreshing thing to see, not just on Housewives, but on Reality TV in general.
