The Amazing Race: The Last 10 Winners, Ranked By How Much They Deserved It

In order to win The Amazing Race, one has to have drive, stamina, and determination to pull through when the obstacles get tough. CBS's hit reality competition is not for the faint of heart. It requires the heart of a champion, which is what the last 10 winners of the network's flagship reality competition have shown.

The challenges were tough and the race even tougher, but in the end, the 10 winners not only pushed through when they had to but did it while earning the right to become the world's best racer. Here is a ranking of the last 10 winners based on how much they really wanted and deserved to be called champions.

10 Dana & Matt (Season 28)

Dana & Matt were the winners of season 28, and through it all, they had to endure assembling a Victorinox Swiss Army knife, performing a demanding and fast-paced ballet routine, and practice riding self-balancing unicycles.

While all of the challenges were indeed daunting, they were a bit tame by Amazing Race standards compared to the other nine winners on this list, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they fought tooth-and-nail to become the champions of this season.

9 Amy & Maya (Season 25)

Much like Dana & Matt, Amy & Maya got their season 25 victory by doing a variety of tough challenges that tested their mental and physical strengths. The pair had to cross a canyon in the Atlas Mountains by rope-and-plank and ziplines, and run over a greased log to grab flags in the Maltese game of "Gostra." Any team that has to run over greased logs deserves to be champions.

8 Josh & Brent (Season 21)

Josh and Brent were goat farmers who came into the season 21 race prepared and ready to take home the crown, and that they did.

The farmers' challenges to get to the finish line were tough, from trying to compete against a 10-year-old Chinese table tennis pro to escaping from a straitjacket 15 stories above the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The farmers did it all and were the first to finish the race.

7 Cody & Jessica (Season 30)

The 30th season was a doozy, from the teams having to compete in a head-to-head "Frietrace" challenge to pulling themselves up 200 feet to the top of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge center anchorage.

It was a lot of daunting challenges in this season, but reality stars Cody and Jessica found a way to pull through and cross the finish line as the season's champions.

6 Dave & Connor (Season 24)

This season saw teams of the past seasons come together for an all-star race that was packed with drama and excitement throughout the season. Even for the returning veterans, this season found a way to produce new challenges for the teams.

In the end, Dave & Connor, who were eliminated in the fifth leg of season 22, finally put it all together and brought home the $1 million grand prize.

5 Colin & Christie (Season 31)

Contestants in this season were made up of the other CBS reality television shows that have competed with The Amazing Race for the right to be the network's flagship program.

In the end, The Amazing Race still showed it was the top dog by sending teams from Big Brother, Survivor, and the parent show on a worldwide adventure filled with twists and turns. In the end, Colin & Christie, two former contestants on The Amazing Race, showed the others how it was done and took home the win.

4 Tyler & Laura (Season 26)

From the start of season 26, Tyler and Laura were on their A-game, using power tools to remove a transmission from an engine block to rappeling from Dallas' Reunion Tower. They were instantly the favorites to win it all this season, and that they did, picking up a cool $1 million for completing their astounding journey.

3 Jason & Amy (Season 23)

Lovebirds Jason & Amy walked into season 23 ready to take on all racers. To get to the $1 million grand prize, the duo had to do an assortment of crazy challenges, from putting on a suit of armor and using a ballista, shooting an arrow through a shield, to riding a bush plane to drop supplies in an exorcise.

Jason and Amy had the drive to overcome this season, and that they did, becoming the champions and setting themselves up for a future all-star appearance to boot.

2 Bates & Anthony (Season 22)

Bates and Anthony were a team to be reckoned with all throughout season 22. This team was hungry, determined, and ready to slay all competitors in their quest to win the grand prize. They did just that and then some, winning the season 22 race and setting themselves up as one of the most dominant teams in the history of the show, bar none.

1 Brooke & Scott (Season 29)

Few teams were as dominant from start to finish as Brooke and Scott were in season 29. With the way the game is set up, it can be a bit tough for fans to see which teams would be the favorites to go all the way to the finish line and finish as the top team, but there were no such reservations with Booke & Scott.

From the opening start in Los Angeles to the finish line at Milton Lee Olive Park in Chicago, Brooke & Scott were in near command throughout the season, and they deserved to be crowned the champions of this season.
