Love Island USA star Laurel Goldman seems to be flirting with Big Brother 21 winner Jackson Michie after her breakup with Carrington Rodriguez became official. On Love Island USA season 2, Laurel and Carrington made it all the way to the grand finale but ultimately landed in fourth place. In 2019, it was Jackson who was competing on a CBS reality series, Big Brother 21, where he had two showmances. He first had a fling with Kat Dunn, but then jumped ship to be with Holly Allen. Jackson and Holly were together until 2020 but broke up during the quarantine.
In November, Laurel Goldman took a trip to visit her Love Island beau Carrington Rodriguez in Utah. However, the fans found it strange that they didn't post that many pictures together. In fact, Carrington almost seemed to be deliberately leaving Laurel out of his Instagram Stories during her trip to visit him. Nonetheless, there had been no solid reports or even real evidence that the couple had broken up. Until earlier this week, that is, when fans saw Laurel revealing during a live-stream that she was single. On Tuesday, November 15, an Instagram follower asked Carrington about the status of their relationship, and he replied: "We are not talking anymore. But she is an amazing brilliant girl."
Now that this Love Island USA romance is behind them, Laurel Goldman appears to be setting her sights on Big Brother 21 winner Jackson Michie. On Wednesday, December 18, Jackson shared an Instagram post that included two pictures: one of him wearing a mask and the other one of him smiling. As seen below, Laurel left a brief but very suggestive comment under the post: a fire emoji. Now, one can note that a fire emoji can mean something else after some context is provided. However, as it looks, it does seem very clear that Laurel is calling Jackson "hot" and/or saying that this post or picture is "fire" (whatever that means). It should be pointed out that Jackson and Laurel currently follow one another on IG. It should also be noted that out of Jackson's nine latest IG posts, Laurel liked every single one of them.
There's no indication that Jackson Michie and Laurel Goldman knew each other prior to their reality TV stints. There is also no clear trajectory to explain when and why they started following each other on Instagram, exchanging likes, and even commenting on posts. They're both currently single, and Laurel does seem to have taken a liking for Jackson. All things considered, It wouldn't be the first time for CBS franchises to cross over in the name of love, but this would definitely be an interesting combination of people.
For now, the Love Island USA fans and the Big Brother fans will have to stay tuned for more context or further developments. Otherwise, this can just be interpreted as a friendly exchange between two reality TV stars, perhaps.
