Logan Huntzberger is one of three Gilmore Girls guys who try to win Rory over. He and Rory embark on a somewhat mature romance after meeting at Yale. Even though she grew up with her mom's words in her ear that the rich aren't better than other people, Rory is interested in Logan and seems to be cool with his wealthy background.
Some fans are firmly on Team Logan but despite how charming this character can be, there are a lot of things about his life that are totally tragic. From his dad to his relationships and career, Logan isn't doing very well, no matter which season fans are watching.
10 His Family Doesn't Love Him And He Gets Expelled From Schools
Logan doesn't have a sparkling academic record. Despite his wealth, he got expelled from several schools, as he couldn't stop making trouble.
He also doesn't come from the same kind of family that Rory does. Logan's parents may still be together, but they're hanging by a thread, as his dad, Mitchum, is cruel and cold. Logan never feels love or affection from his family, which is very upsetting.
9 His Dad Makes Him Move To London
In season 7, Logan moves to London because it's what his dad wants him to do. He barely asks any questions and just heads over there.
Logan has always jumped when his dad told him to, and this is a big problem, as he should learn to stand up for himself and be his own person. It's sad that Logan allows himself to be bossed around by Mitchum and that he is so miserable as a result. This makes him the opposite of Rory, who has always known who she is and what she wants.
8 He Messes Up In London And Loses Everything
There are moments when Logan is a jerk and moments when he's a good, authentic person. When he goes to London, he messes up at work and invests in a business that isn't going to work out. It might be an honest mistake that anyone could make, as he was excited and thought that he was doing the right thing, but Logan can never think positively about himself.
This is a sad time for Logan as he feels like he has lost everything. He's ashamed of what he did, which is even sadder, and he isolates himself and won't tell Rory what happened right away.
7 He Breaks Rory's Heart By Sleeping With Several Other Women
Fans think that Rory could have ended up with Dean or Jess and it's hard to picture her in a long-term, forever romance with Logan, as he sleeps with a few other women.
Logan and Rory disagree about the status of their love story at this point. Rory said it was a "break" and Logan thought they had split up. This is one of the saddest things about Logan, as he doesn't even appreciate Rory, and he can't stop flirting with others and playing games.
6 He Never Lives Up To His Potential
When fans see Logan again in the Netflix revival A Year In The Life, it's sad to realize that he hasn't gotten any more mature or happier since the end of season 7.
Logan never lives up to his potential, which is one of the worst things that can be said about someone. It's strange that after dating Rory, who is incredibly ambitious and intelligent, he wasn't inspired to make something out of himself. Logan is still leading the same kind of life and doing everything that his father wants him to do.
5 He's Part Of The Dangerous Life And Death Brigade And Gets Seriously Hurt
Rory meets Logan because of the Life and Death Brigade at Yale and she's understandably freaked out by this secret society.
The group performs dangerous stunts, although the members think that they're fine, and Logan loves every minute of it. Logan gets hurt during a stunt, which is heartbreaking for Rory and a tragic moment in his life, as it could have been so much worse and he could have died. It's sad that Logan thinks that he has to constantly seek out adventure and adrenaline rushes all the time and that he can't find safer ways to spend his time.
4 He Watches His Dad Crush Rory's Goals And Dreams
Rory may be smart and studious but she can make some horrible decisions, like stealing a yacht at the end of season 5. It seemed like such a wild thing for her to do.
Rory is incredibly upset when Mitchum tells her that she's never going to become a real journalist. Logan watches his dad crush Rory's goals and dreams, and it's sad when he realizes that his father was so mean to the woman he loves. This isn't what someone wants for their partner.
3 His Family Doesn't Think Rory Is Good Enough
When Rory or Lorelai have brought a date to the Gilmore house, that decision results in awkward and terrible Friday night dinners. The same thing happens in the season 5 episode "But I'm a Gilmore!" when Logan's family meets Rory and they don't think that the couple should be dating each other.
It's sad that the Huntzbergers don't think that Rory is good enough for Logan or the family in general. Rory feels horrible about this and the dinner isn't good for her self-esteem or for Logan's. It's another example of how unsupportive his family is.
2 He Cheats On His Fiancée With Rory
Fans wonder if Rory's baby is Logan's as the two have a secret romance in the four revival episodes.
This isn't a happy and smooth reunion, though, as Logan is supposed to marry Odette, a woman who comes from a rich family. It's sad to see that Logan hasn't changed and that he's still making the wrong choices in his personal life. He should break off the engagement and confess his love for Rory instead of continuing to act like he doesn't have to grow up.
1 He's Stuck In A Profession He Hates Because Of Family Pressure
While the revival has some sweet and moving quotes, thinking about Logan's story isn't very inspiring.
Logan is stuck in a job that he hates because his dad has always pressured him, and he has never been able to find what he really wants to do. It's clear that he will continue being unhappy his entire life and that he's never going to work up the courage to follow his heart or find a dream to reach for. That's truly the saddest thing about him.
