Who's in the Woke season 1 cast, and where have you seen them before? Created by Keith Knight and Marshall Todd, the Hulu comedy series follows the ups and downs of a Black cartoonist living in San Francisco.
In Woke season 1, the protagonist Keef prepares for an industry event called Golden Con. He's known as the creator of Toast & Butter, and he hopes for more exposure through a business partnership with the firm Bloom & Hill. But when Keef experiences a traumatizing case of police racial profiling, he realizes that he may have some unaddressed mental health issues, evidenced by the appearance of a talking marker and garbage can. Before the cartoonist finds peace of mind, though, he melts down at a public event and loses the confidence of his professional colleagues.
Woke season 1 is based on the experiences of the aforementioned Knight, the creator of The K Chronicles. And the series stars one of the primary cast members from New Girl. The Woke season 1 supporting cast features a Saturday Night Live alum, along with a Workaholics co-creator.
Lamorne Morris stars as Keef Knight, the creator of Toast-N-Butter. Morris is best known for starring as Winston Bishop in New Girl. He also portrayed Bling in Sandy Wexler and Kevin in Game Night.
Blake Anderson as Gunther: Keef's roommate. Blake Anderson co-created Workaholics and starred as himself. He also voiced Matthew Holt in Voltron: Legendary Defender.
T. Murph as Clovis: Keef's roommate. A Chicago comedian, T. Murph made his TV debut in Key and Peele season 2 and later appeared in Chicago Fire.
Sasheer Zamata as Ayana: Keef's friend. A former Saturday Night Live cast member, Sasheer Zamata portrays Isis in The Last O.G.
Elizabeth Bowen as Nancy: A comic store employee. Elizabeth Bowen portrayed Sue Lutz in Fargo season 2 and Fran Booth in Upload.
Susan Hanson as Mrs. Chang: A restaurant owner. Susan Hanson has appeared in Arrow and The Man in the High Castle.
Kurt Long as Phil: A Bloom & Hill agent. Kurt Long portrayed Johnny Nimbus in Liv and Maddie and Pastor Ames in Supernatural.
Shannon Chan-Kent as Cindy: A Bloom & Hill agent. Shannon Chan-Kent portrayed Joy Pepper in Superbook and voiced numerous characters in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
Brandi Alexander as Simone: Clovis' acquaintance. Brandi Alexander portrayed Lana in The Romeo Section and Eva in Insomnia.
