Excitement has slowly been building over the last year for PS5 and Xbox Series X, as more and more information gets revealed about the next-gen consoles. Sony finally had their big event, detailing vital info and revealing quite a few big games fans can look forward to on the PS5.
With the PS5 set to launch Holiday 2020, fans will need to start getting ready now. Luckily, there's plenty of info to start digging into, and Sony will surely be sharing more in the months leading up to the new console's release.

Games are, of course, the bread-and-butter of any system, and a launch lineup can make a big difference. With that in mind, here are the best game announcements from Sony's PS5 conference.
Sony opened the show with a bang, with the very first PS5 game reveal being Spider-Man: Miles Morales. As fans might expect, the sequel puts Miles Morales front-and-center, as a brand new Spider-Man. The short trailer didn't reveal much gameplay, but it's clear that Miles' set of powers will come into play, like his electric Venom Strike. The big question is just how big Miles Morales will be; will it be a full-fledged experience, or a smaller more focused one? Perhaps most surprising, however, is that Spider-Man: Miles Morales launches Holiday 2020.
Polyphony Digital confirmed years ago that they were working on a new Gran Turismo, and Sony finally showed off the fruits of that labor. Gran Turismo 7 was certainly one of the most visually stunning games during the presentation, with everything from the sheen on cars to the weather effects looking downright realistic. In terms of gameplay, there doesn't seem to be anything drastically different, but what was shown was impressive.
Insomniac has big things in the works, as the presentation had a second game announcement from that studio, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The dynamic duo returns once again, and it looks like the gimmick this time around is being able to jump through different dimensional rifts. The trailer also ended with a massive cliffhanger, showing another surviving member of Ratchet's Lombax race.
For years fans have been clamoring for a remake of Demon's Souls, the game that served as the precursor to the wildly popular Dark Souls, and the Souls-like genre as a whole. Those wishes were finally fulfilled when Sony showed a gorgeous trailer for the Demon's Souls remake, which is being developed by Bluepoint Games. The studio previously worked on The Nathan Drake Collection and Gravity Rush Remastered, before tackling the massive undertaking of the Shadow of the Colossus remake.
Hitman came back with a vengeance over the last generation, with a strong reimagining of the series, followed by an even stronger sequel. Hitman 3 will bring an end to the rebooted trilogy and it looks to be putting the power of the PS5 to good use. Larger crowds, more detailed environments, and additional stealth options are just a few of the enhancements shown off in the trailer. Hitman 3 will release in January 2021.
Deathloop had already been announced by Bethesda and Arkane Studios at E3 2019, but nothing was shown beyond a conceptual trailer. With the PS5 reveal, however, Arkane gave fans a detailed look at the game, and it has the studio's trademark style. Deathloop looks a lot like Dishonored, but with a sleek 80s techno kind of vibe. The core idea behind two battling assassins that continuously respawn sounds fascinating, and it'll be interesting to see how that plays out within the game. Despite already being announced, Deathloop was still a highlight of the PS5's show.
Recent rumors had said that Resident Evil 8 would be going in a wildly different direction, and boy if that doesn't look true with the reveal trailer. The eerie trailer showed off a desolate European village filled with terrifying sights. Werewolves, magic, a giant mansion, and even Chris Redfield are all on display. Resident Evil 8: Village once again has players taking control of Ethan Winters, the protagonist of RE 7, and it's set to release in 2021.
Another blockbuster franchise for Sony, Horizon: Zero Dawn is getting its long-awaited sequel on the PS5. Easily one of the most visually impressive games shown off during the entire presentation, Horizon: Forbidden West looks to take place on the West Coast, partially in the San Francisco area, due to the appearance of the Golden Gate bridge. Players will once again take control of Aloy, as the tries to stop a mysterious illness that seems to be killing living creatures.
The PS5 will release Holiday 2020.
